Rohil Bhinge’s Senior Farewell
When I first set foot in Woodson as a freshman, I never expected to be a writer for the Cavalcade. The day I sat down to add an elective to my sophomore year schedule, my heart was set on taking Photography 1, but the class was full, and I had to choose another elective on the spot. On a whim, I signed up for Journalism 1, mainly because I had heard positive things about the class from Emily Kao (Class of 2019) and Nyela Walker. This turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions I have ever made. Writing a diverse array of stories, from the renaming of John R. Lewis High School to the volleyball team’s viral TikTok, has helped me further explore what makes our school community unique as well as improve my writing and argumentative skills. I will also miss the little moments in the lab, from the staff parties, to rushing to finish my French homework, to spinning around in the comfy chairs, to pushing for an article about furries during brainstorming (I tried three times in the last two years; every attempt failed). I will be sure to visit the lab next year; please stay in touch! Thank you for a great three years.
