Tamara Nguyen’s Senior Farewell
When I first walked into D205 being greeted by those bulky, blue spinny chairs, I didn’t know what to expect. I never really had the intention to join journalism, but I’m glad to say that it was the best decision I have ever made in my high school career. For the past three years, journalism and the Cavalcade has been such a valuable and insightful experience. Getting to work with such passionate, hard-working people as well as a funny, witty advisor has truly been a highlight of my high school career.
Section editors: Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the Cavalcade this year. Though this year was definitely new and different, you all made it possible, and I am so grateful that I got to work with a group of such diligent, understanding and kind people. Shout out to my co-editor, Emanda, for bearing with me this year. Our late-night calls and panic texts during class really paid off!
To everyone in journalism: There was never a class where I didn’t let out a laugh. Even in a virtual setting, journalism maintained the same positive, light-hearted energy that it has always had. Thank you all for making it such an unforgettable year.
Overall, the Cavalcade has been a community where I can truly be myself and learn from my peers. There are definitely things that I’m going to miss; having food parties almost every week, the big, wooden tables arranged in a U-shape, the random polls in BBCU, and playing guess the fake fact. However, I’m going to miss our tight-knit class most of all.
