What will Woodson look like after Covid-19?

Waking up at seven in the morning, riding a bus full of other exhausted teenagers, and constantly being either too hot or too cold in the school building were never things students expected to miss. This school year, while full of challenges, helped the entire Woodson community appreciate the routines only seen as average before the pandemic.

As much as everyone would like everything to return to exactly the way they used to be this coming fall, that will not be the case just yet. Still, FCPS has guaranteed full in-person instruction five days a week for those able to attend. Here’s what to anticipate in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year at Woodson so far:

Returning to Pre-Pandemic status:

  • 5 days a week in person
  • Hot lunches
  • Original bus schedules and routes
  • Full activity and athletic programs

Covid-19 regulations:

  • The Covid-19 vaccine will not be required to attend in person instruction
  • Masks required inside the building
  • Social distancing of either 3 feet or 6 feet depending on Woodson’s Covid-19 data in the fall

New this fall:

  • Virtual option for students who have a documented health or medical need for virtual instruction
  • Adjusted bell schedule to allow social distancing on school buses
