Woodson junior Mikaely Griffin owns a small jewelry business in which she makes her own products such as rings and sells them through Instagram.
Q: What kind of small business did you start?
A: “I created a business where I sold rings on Instagram.”

Q: What exactly influenced you to start a business in general?
A: “I learned how to make rings and thought other people would want them too, so I started selling them.”
Q: What exactly influenced you to start your business with the specific products?
A: “Some of the designs I made, I couldn’t find anywhere else, so I thought I could just make them myself.”
Q: What kinds of products did you sell?
A: “Beaded rings and wire rings.”
Q: Did you expect a certain outcome from your business?
A: “I expected a few people would buy some.”
Q: How do you feel about the overall success of your business?
A: “I sold a lot more than I thought I would, and it made me really use my creative side to advertise them in a way that would appeal to people like me.”
Q: How long did/do you plan on running your business?
A: “I didn’t really plan on a certain time frame, but I just make them whenever people buy them.”

Q: Did you have any worries about starting your business?
A: “I worried about none of them getting sold, or people not liking them as much as they thought they would.”

Q: Did you run into any problems while running your business?
A: “It was a little challenging to find ways to send the rings to people who live far away, as well as delivering the rings in the midst of the pandemic.”
Q: Do you see a future with expanding your business and making a career off of it?
A: “I don’t think I will make a career out of this business, but it is definitely a fun way to get creative and make money.”
Q: What do you plan on studying in college?
A: “I plan to study pre-physical therapy in college.”
